LOUISIANA DEPARTMENT OF INSURANCE
Entity Management System
Business Need
The LDI’s legacy Regulator system was in dire need of additional functionality, system responsiveness enhancements, and improved maintainability. This system needed to be transformed into a more user-friendly, less error prone, and faster web application that integrated with the other databases at the LDI. Some of these new features included a heavily revised and updated fiscal section, an improved search interface, and a revamped API to allow developers to easily maintain and extend the system.
Our Approach
We worked with the LDI to produce a completely new system that involved writing a rich, AJAX-enabled web application that is fast, scalable, secure, and user-friendly. The system database was redesigned to be more efficient. All system processes were reviewed and updated where necessary. A new user interface was developed for greater user interaction combined with fewer screens and fewer “clicks.”
Key Features
An advanced system API that reduced the lines of system code by over 80 percent, a reorganized search which unites all common user searches together, an average system response time of less than 2 seconds, and dramatically enhanced system scalability and extensibility.
